Momentous March

The real estate sales statistics were released last week and they showed what anyone in the market knows in their heart of hearts…We are still in crazy town. Prices are still ratcheting up, inventory is still historically low.

Average prices in March were up 32.3% compared to a year ago.

The average price of a detached home is now $583,000.

Managing Expectations

I recently was successful with an offer, not because it was a great offer but because ten other realtors and their clients stayed home instead of offering. I wrote about that at keithmarshall.ca.

According to a TD Bank survey homebuyers are pretty anxious about money, timing and paperwork.

FOMO

It started happening early last year, clients would say, “I have to buy soon. Prices are going up and I won’t be able to afford a house in a few months”. We didn’t know how true that was.

FOMO: Fear of missing out.

All things considered

In a recent survey TD Canada Trust polled over a thousand women and found there are a few things they wish they had considered before they bought their house. The costs of maintenance and repairs tops the list.

We want to buy your house

I got a business card wedged into my front door the other day.

It said, ”If you’re thinking about selling, please let us know!” Does this really work?
