Last year, Kitchener Waterloo unofficially became part of Toronto. It was inevitable. It was probably because of the so-called “innovation corridor”. It was because of real estate and economics and the information revolution.

Some KW residents bemoan the changes. Most people don’t like changes. But those same people don’t remember what the downtowns of Kitchener and Waterloo looked like twenty years ago – 1997 was a low point in my opinion.

Anyhow, here is a fun essay introducing who we are now to those new in town, and to those set in their ways.
