Kitchener Waterloo Real Estate News Update

July 19 2017. In today’s news: Bear gone, commercial zoning links to crime, luxury home sales, bad Kitchener drivers, reddit responds, going topless in Ontario and a podcast to consider.

StylFrugal bear

To some, the blue and black bear on the side of a building on Ontario Street in downtown Kitchener was an iconic piece of graffiti. But now the StylFrugal bear is gone, replaced with a different, colourful piece of street art.

Freedom lies in being bold

The city of Cornwall is facing a human rights complaint over its policy on female toplessness in pools, more than two decades after it became legal for women bare their breasts in public in the province. In 1996 the Ontario Court of Appeal ruled that a woman’s topless stroll down a street in Guelph, Ont., was not obscene, making it legal for all women in Ontario to be topless in public.

Words for inside your head

Sandvine sells

Sandvine, the internet traffic management company headquartered in Waterloo, has been acquired by private equity firm Francisco Partners in a deal worth $562 million.
